As you have found that no requests exist, it could not be an interrupt which is causing this. Or try going into the printer driver options in control panel and sometimes for now-a-days printers they have a sleep mode or an auto shutoff mode. However, lately I've been noticing that it's not doing that and instead I'm seeing a message that says something to the effect of "The Print Spooler Service could not shut down If it is the case, you'd better reinstall the printer driver and reset it.
